Samir Alt Said suffered a brutal leg injury Saturday in the Rio Olympics.
But he's already been through surgery, and he plans to return for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.
Alt Said also missed the 2012 Olympics in London after breaking his right leg in three places.
He's 26, relatively old for a gymnast, but still plans on competing again, USA Today reports.
"He said that even with what happened, he feels that 26 is to young for him personally to stop competing in gymnastics," French gymnastics journalist Anouk Courge said.
Alt Said's stretcher was dropped as he was being taken to an ambulance after the leg injury.
The injury prompted well-wishes from the official Rio Games Twitter account.
