I hate the fact there are predators out there going around and drugging people.
Ian Carey, owner of Bar Sue

Ian Carey decided he'd had enough of seeing people getting drugged by spiked drinks.

Carey, owner of Bar Sue in Seattle, said he was once a victim of a "date rape drug" when he walked away from a drink he left with a friend, returned, and blacked out 30 minutes later.

On Monday, Carey started handing out kits that test for drugged drinks.

The kit is a simple card with dots labeled "A" and "B." If a drop of the drink on the dots turns blue, it means the drink has likely been drugged with either GHB or ketamine.

"If I can get a negative result on every test, then we are doing our job right," said Carey.

About a quarter of women who were raped reported that drugs were involved, according to the Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada.

Here's a look at the kits.
