Donald Trump's campaign rally in Ashburn, Virginia on Tuesday was a bit crazy, even by Trump standards.
At one point, he told the crowd someone gave him a Purple Heart, the medal given to U.S. troops who have been wounded in battle or to the families of those killed. He even showed it to the audience.
And I said, 'Man, that's like big stuff. I always wanted to get the Purple Heart.' This was much easier.
Trump never served in the military and was deferred from the draft for the Vietnam War five times, The New York Times reports.
Steve Dorfman, who was wounded in Iraq in 2007, gave Trump a copy of his own Purple Heart, Politico reports.
Trump also asked to have a crying baby removed from that same rally.
