Muslims Attend Mass In Honor of Slain Priest

Muslims across Europe joined Catholics for Sunday Mass in a show of solidarity after terrorists held a French church hostage and killed a priest Tuesday.

We are very moved by the presence of our Muslim friends and I believe it is a courageous act that they did by coming to us.
Dominique Lerun, archbishop of Rouen

Outside the church, a group of Muslims were applauded when they unfurled a banner: "Love for all. Hate for none."

Many of the Muslims in attendance were part of a minority Islamic sect called Ahmadiyya, which does not regard Muhammad as the final prophet, contrary to most branches of Islam.

I find this very heartwarming. I am confident...It will maybe relaunch us better than politics can do. Maybe we will react in a better way.
Jacqueline Prevot, churchgoer

Similar gatherings were held throughout France and Italy.
