'Avengers: Infinity War' will technically be one movie, not two

Annoyed by the trend of movie series splitting the last movie in two? Marvel's got your back.

Variety reports Disney officially changed a scheduled "Avengers" movie's name from "Infinity War Part II" to "Untitled Avengers."

The first (and, apparently, only) "Avengers: Infinity War" movie is still scheduled for May 4, 2018. "Untitled" is set for May 3, 2019.

The movies are two very different movies.

Two months ago, directors Anthony and Joe Russo said the movies' titles were changing to show that they were not just one movie split in half.

It's not clear if the movies will in fact be completely different, or if this is just a name change of two very related movies.

Other big movie series that have split apart their last entries include "Harry Potter," "The Hunger Games," and "Divergent."
