After many months of rumors, Yahoo finally sold itself this week. And to the company everyone expected it to: Verizon.
There are many questions about what the age-old internet company will look like after it has completed its merger with AOL, the other age-old internet company that Verizon bought last year. But perhaps the largest among those questions is this: Will Yahoo Answers get shut down?
Yahoo Answers is the internet's ultimate user-submitted (and user-answered) Q & A message board; a place where regular folks ask regular folks questions like "who killed JFK?" or "how do I cure food poisoning?"
It's great fun: Come for the crazy questions; stay for the unqualified, shoot-from-the-hip answers.
So, to gain some insight as to whether this national treasure will survive the Yahoo buyout, we asked... Yahoo Answers. And yes, it was amusing.
