Update: Feds say Russians likely hacked Clinton campaign servers

  • Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign says the hackers gained access to the data program the campaign uses for voter analysis, but not DNC emails or voicemails
  • Federal law enforcement officials have said the hack likely was carried out by Russian intelligence agents

The FBI and Justice Department have launched an official investigation into a possible computer hack of Hillary Clinton's campaign, two law enforcement officials said Friday.

The intrusion was discovered by private investigators hired by the campaign, according to one of the law enforcement officials. 

The Justice Department's national security division, which investigated the first DNC hack, says it's working to determine the nature of the breach.
