We're not sure if the limited-edition sneaker thing has jumped the shark yet.
But until we figure that out, Adidas has got a new pair it's calling "Pitch Black."
There are only 500 pairs being released strictly for "family and friends" --whoever that is-- so it's likely that they'd resell for astronomically high prices.
Made with a patented knit upper material, the Primeknit shoes will feature a blacked out BOOST sole unit underneath.
It's clearly a collectors-only piece of apparel for elite sneakerheads. However, if you're not an Adidas VIP just yet and wanna snag one of these slick kicks, don't fret yet, Adidas is giving the average Joe a chance at winning a "Pitch Black" Primeknit by setting aside 100 pairs to given away through a Snapchat competition that will take place on July 30.
Every pair of shoes will come in an exclusive and unique Rimowa case called the "Urban Utility Kit" and will feature other black colored accessories from collaborated brands like Porter, Oral-B, SIGG and (multee) project.
- Story will go live on Snapchat (@adidasOriginals) at 12 p.m. EST Saturday, July 30. The contest will be live for 24 hours.
- The snap story will reveal a series of hidden numbers, once complete, users can piece the numbers together and text the final phone number and await next steps.
- 100 entrants will be selected at random once the Snapchat story expires, and will receive a pair of the Primeknit "Pitch Black."
