The Apple iPhone is known for its excellent picture-taking capabilities. So it might surprise and excite you to learn that Microsoft Wednesday spontaneously released a camera app that can make the pictures your iPhone takes even better.
Yep.
The app is called Pix and it uses artificial intelligence to automatically adjust the dynamics of a photo while you're snapping it.
The result: Photos are, more often than not, brighter and bolder than those taken with the regular iPhone Camera app.
Microsoft's Pix camera also has its own take on Apple's Live photos. Instead of capturing a movie file while you take a picture, Pix creates GIF-type moving images by stitching together a burst of photos.
Pix is available in the App Store now (for free). If you're a mobile phone photog, it's definitely worth trying out.
