7 arrested after DNC protesters storm gates of 'restricted zone'

Tensions at the Democratic National Convention came to a head Wednesday night.

Protesters charged security barricades at around 11 p.m., while President Obama was speaking. Seven people broke through a fence and got in a Secret Service-designated secure zone. They were arrested and will likely be charged with entering a restricted area, according to USA Today.

The chants included "This is what democracy is," "Election fraud," "Bernie won," and when police arrived, "Who do you protect? Who do you serve?"

Some protesters lit an American flag on fire, and a woman briefly caught fire while trying to step on the flag.

They burn flags. We burn sage.
