Gymnast Gabby Douglas says she is back on track after struggling at both the national championships and the Olympic trials.
Douglas, the reigning Olympic all-around champion, spent the last week at Karolyi ranch. Martha Karolyi said Douglas' time at the ranch has helped her so much that she hasn't missed a routine on the balance beam in the last few days.
The Karolyi ranch is the national training center for the United States women's national gymnastics team.
"I'm pleased," Karolyi told USA Today. "It certainly is a work in progress, and every day we're doing improvements. So I'm pretty confident she will be able to function well."
Douglas told USA Today she wasn't as focused going into the Olympic trials as she was before.
According to USA Today, Douglas is the first Olympic champion to return for the following Games since Nadia Comaneci in 1980.
