A Georgia news anchor fell to her death over a waterfall in a North Carolina state park on Thursday, authorities confirmed Saturday.
Taylor Terrell of 41NBC in Macon, Georgia, died one day before her 25th birthday.
Terrell, an "avid hiker" in Carr's words, lost her footing on rocks covered in algae while wading in a creek around 4 p.m., according to a friend who witnessed the fall.
Terrell's death has been deemed accidental.
It's the seventh death in the Pisgah National Ranger District in the past 10 years, The (Asheville) Citizen-Times reports.
In Transylvania County, N.C., seven people died in waterfall-related incidents in 2016.
