Afghanistan's Interior Ministry says death toll in suicide attack on a peaceful demonstration has climbed to 80 and 260 injured.
A suicide bomber detonated his explosives-packed clothing in a large crowd of protestors in Kabul, the Afghan capital, on Saturday. At least 61 people were killed and another 207 wounded.
According to Aamaq, the Islamic State's news agency, it claimed responsibility for the attack on a protest march by Afghanistan's ethnic group, the Hazaras.
The protestors were asking for a major regional electric power line to be routed through their home province to improve electricity coverage there. Hazaras are predominantly Shiite Muslims, while most Afghanis are Sunni.
