You may know him best as CEO of Amazon, but you can also now refer to him as the third-richest person on Earth.
With a net worth of $65.05 billion, Bezos this week passed up Nebraska billionaire investor and Berkshire Hathaway Founder Warren Buffett on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. He's ahead of Buffett by $32 million.
Who does he need to top to get to first place? Spain's Amancio Ortega, founder of Zara's parent company Inditex SA and is worth $73 billion, comes in at number two. And Microsoft Founder Bill Gates is the world's richest person with his $89 billion fortune.
Thanks in large part to Amazon, Bezos' wealth has grown this year by $5.4 billion.
But Bezos has other projects up his sleeve that are contributing to his expanded riches and power. Most recently in 2013 he purchased the Washington Post, but he also owns an aerospace company, Blue Origin, which he launched in 2000.
On a side note, Bezos is actually really into space. He's taken part in the recovery of Apollo 11's engines from the ocean floor and with Blue Origin, he's pioneering reusable rockets.
He's even making a cameo in the newest "Star Trek" movie, "Beyond," due out July 22.
