In a speech where Caitlyn Jenner affirmed she was a "real Republican," she sure seemed to hold a lot of positions that aren't in line with GOP orthodoxy.
For one, she condemned bills that force trans people into bathrooms that match their biological sex. The GOP has long supported such bills.
She also said the Democratic Party was "better" than the Republicans in regards to the LGBT community, highlighting Barack Obama in particular. But Donald Trump has argued that he loves "the gays."
"He will be the most gay-friendly Republican nominee for president ever," Peter Angelo, president of the pro-gay Log Cabin Republicans, told The New York Times.
It was somewhat strange to hear a Republican praise the Democratic Party for anything, especially in 2016.
Jenner also added that she wanted to ensure "more jobs for the trans community."
But the GOP has blocked bills that ensure people can't be fired based on their gender identity. Only 18 states have laws specifically protecting trans people (see above).
