Unilever just snagged Dollar Shave Club for a cool $1 billion.
The packaged goods giant purchased the men's grooming startup in an all-cash deal, according to Fortune. After effectively disrupting the razor industry in just a short couple of years, Dollar Shave Club (DSC) joins Unilever's roster of grooming brands including Axe, Dove and Pond's.
The billion-dollar purchase is one of the biggest e-commerce deals this year.
The concept behind DSC is simple: a cheap, monthly razor delivery service.
Now, seven years since its launch, DSC boasts three million customers and has expanded beyond bundles of razors into hair products and even butt wipes -- no joke. It's also eyeing a move into new countries.
DCS will operate as a standalone business within Unilever with the company's founder, Michael Dubin, at the helm.
