Right now, when you book a ride with Uber, you can check approximately how much you'll pay in the end, but not the exact amount varies depending on distance and time (like most cabs). Soon there's going to be a new system in place.
On Thursday, Uber announced it's rolling out its "upfront" fares globally, meaning you'll know the exact price of your ride before you request it on the app.
Uber first created these upfront fares with its uberPool service in 2014, and the company has since been slowly expanding the feature to uberX in some cities in the U.S. as well as India.
Uber is also in the process of rolling out two other new features: 'Scheduled Rides' and 'Trip Tracker.'
