Euro 2016 fans tear gassed outside of Paris fan zone

French police fired teargas to prevent overcrowding of the Paris Fan Zone, which filled up quickly with fans trying to watch the Euro 2016 final Sunday evening, according to several reports.

According to The Independent, police armed with batons attempted to disperse the crowds of people beneath the Eiffel Tower trying to watch the France match against Portugal when fans began to clash with police.

Groups covered in scarves and French flags threw bottles at the police as they tried to prevent the riot from spilling into the park. The fan zone, which has a capacity of 90,000, filled up.
