The world's busiest airport has just started the process of becoming the most visually appealing. Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport revealed its modernization blueprint that promises to "create an exceptional experience for all guests" said the project's lead designer, Ripley Rasmus, of HOK Design.
The project, dubbed ATLNext, will take 20 years to complete and has a budget of $6 Billion.
HOK states that visitors will arrive and depart under two transparent new canopies. They will provide shelter and comfort from Atlanta's ever-changing weather, while maintaining access to views of the sky and daylight. The canopies help redefine the character of the building as a 21st-century air terminal.
