DIRECTOR OF BRANDED CONTENT
Tom Pope joined the Circa team during the summer of 2016 and currently oversees branded content. A veteran marketing and branded entertainment Executive with 20+ years’ experience in promoting brands and products through all media platforms, Tom specializes in brand and product integrations in national TV, digital, social media, event marketing and global sponsorship platforms.
Before Circa, Tom spent the last 17 years at Discovery Communications where he began as a Marketing Manager for Animal Planet and eventually lead all network ad sales partnerships. While at Discovery, Tom also served in various marketing and programming roles and was tapped as Animal Planet’s Vice-President of Interactive in 2006 when digital media was called “interactive”. He is credited as an original creator of the Puppy Bowl and was responsible for the only two advertiser-entitled programming offerings in Discovery’s history with Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom and the Eukanuba Tournament of Champions. Tom also specialized in cross-network partnerships with sister networks Discovery Chanel, TLC, Velocity, Science Channel and the Travel Channel during the time it was owned by Discovery.
Prior to joining Discovery, Tom was Sales and Marketing Manager for IMG in its Philadelphia office where he led the marketing efforts for various IMG events on the ATP and WTA professional tennis tours. Tom also served on the Board of Directors for the Petfinder.com Foundation where he was vice president from 2007-2009.
Tom lives in Baltimore with his wife, two children, two dogs and two cats. When he’s not chasing his children to various sporting events, he enjoys golf and just about any sport with a racquet.
