SENIOR PRODUCER & CORRESPONDENT, CIRCA CARES
Once on a camp out, Stephanie took a bite out of her roasted marshmallow and noticed it tasted strange. When she turned on her flashlight, she saw it was covered in black ants!
As the lead for Circa Cares, Stephanie brings her career full circle by shedding light on stories that make a difference to both an online and television audience.
Stephanie spent most of her career as a CBS TV reporter and anchor serving local and national broadcasts. Following her work in television, Abrams spearheaded the first social media outreach and team development for the Los Angeles Unified School District, where she was responsible for communicating district news to 65,000 employees and nearly one million students and their families.
She was inspired by her work in PR with the LAUSD to create Give Back PR. After so many years covering hard and breaking news, this was her effort to give publicity to the more positive and efforts in the community. She developed a social media news segment called Give Back News, a compliment to Give Back PR, which offered weekly updates on positive community stories in the LA area that had been overlooked. It was featured on the websites of many LA area papers and several popular blogs like ModernMom and MomAngeles.
As the lead producer and correspondent for Circa Cares, she takes her concept to the national level by sharing stories that can inspire others to pay it forward. Follow Stephanie on social media on Facebook at StephAbramsLA or on Twitter @Stephabrams
