SUPERVISING PRODUCER FOR INVESTIGATIVE/ENTERPRISE TEAM
Larry was once head-butted by a giant sea turtle while diving in the Galapagos. It hurt.
Larry Lazo is the Supervising Producer for Circa’s Investigative/Enterprise team. He’s worked in media his entire career - NBC, CNN, ABC just to name a few. He’s worked with high-profile correspondents but he also loves mentoring up-and-coming talent. Being able to move seamlessly from one story to the next under extremely tense situations comes second nature to him. He cut his teeth on deadline pressure in the newsroom and in the field, having covered everything from the attacks of 9/11 to the Olympic Games and everything in between. But Larry is a storyteller at his core.
In the field, Larry has a knack for putting people at ease - reporters, camera crews or interviewees, because the more relaxed people are, the better they are at telling you their stories. He's a veteran marathoner and holds a 4th degree black belt in the martial arts. And before you ask, the answer is ‘no, he’s never had to put anyone in a chokehold in the newsroom.’ At least not when there were any witnesses.
Larry is someone who is always looking for a reason to travel and explore. Botswana, Cambodia and Peru are just a few of the spots he’s traveled to, and he’ll be the first to tell you he needs more stamps on his passport. He has a love for ancient civilizations, which is why Greece, Egypt and Italy hold extra special meaning to him.
