SUPERVISING PRODUCER, POP CULTURE
Adam celebrates his 20th anniversary in New York City in August of 2017
Adam Abernathy grew up in Oklahoma, in a small town but with rather large goals. From the moment MTV arrived in his living room, he knew he had to be in their control room. On his graduation day from Oklahoma State University, he moved eastward to make that happen.
Adam began his television career at The Ricki Lake Show. He then managed to secure a position on MTV’s hit celebrity interview show FANatic. Eventually Adam found himself traveling the world with MTV News reporters, musicians and celebrities. He would eventually become the VP, Multiplatform Programming and Production working on shows across the slates of MTV, VH1 and Logo.
In his post-MTV career, Adam conducted interviews and wrote for outlets like Fuse, NBC, SFX, E!, and dozens more. Some of his career highlights include going to SNL with Britney Spears, holding Beyonce’s hand, and having Madonna laugh at his tee-shirt.
Adam loves to report on music, TV, books, movies, theater, fashion and social media.
